This custom-fit underbed hitch is for those who tow heavy AND use their bed. The flip-and-store ball keeps hardware out of the way between hauls, the install stays manageable for one person, and the double-lock system adds stability with two pins
This hitch mounts beneath the bed so your truck stays useful when towing is not the only job on the list. With the ball stored below the bed floor, you're not working around exposed hardware when loading feed, lumber, tools, or pallets. It's a setup that supports heavy towing without turning the truck into a dedicated trailer rig.
When the trailer is unhooked, the gooseneck ball flips over and stores directly in the socket instead of sitting above the bed. That means fewer obstructions when switching from towing at the hitch to hauling in the bed, and there are no loose parts to stash or forget. The ball stays with the hitch and stays ready for the next hookup.
This hitch is designed to match your truck's layout, so the brackets align with existing mounting points and the parts stay manageable while you work. The center locator helps guide the bed hole placement, and installation does not require bed removal or welding. The exhaust does need to be temporarily lowered, and lowering or removing the spare tire and heat shield can give you more room to work. Drilling is limited to the required holes in the truck bed.
With the included 2-5/16 inch ball, this hitch is rated to handle heavy trailers, equipment, and livestock hauls. The optional 3 inch ball (sold separately) increases both towing and vertical load ratings when your setup calls for it. The ball mounts forward of the rear axle to help keep weight balanced when navigating uneven roads, job sites, and tight approaches.
Spring-loaded safety chain loops are built into the hitch and sit low in the bed until you need them. At the ball, the double-lock system uses two internal locking pins activated by the integrated handle. This added engagement helps keep the ball stable during starts, stops, and changing trailer loads, especially when the road is less than perfect.
Not compatible with factory fifth-wheel prep package.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Curt PowerHaul double-lock custom underbed OEM-style gooseneck trailer hitch. Now, this has been designed to fit your 2025 to current Ram 2500 with the 6-1/2-foot bed without the OEM prep package. Then your 2019 to 2024 Ram 2500 with the 6-3/4-foot-long bed without the OEM prep package. Then your 2019 to current Ram 3500 with the 6-3/4-foot bed without the OEM prep package. And then the 2019 to current Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 8-foot bed.
Again, 8-foot bed, without the OEM prep package. So all that to say, to confirm that this is going to work for you, make sure you go through our vehicle fit guide because that's the fitments at the time of the recording of this video. So you always want to go through our fit guide and pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it has for you, and that fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So this gooseneck hitch is designed to give you heavy-duty towing performance without sacrificing the everyday utility of the bed of your truck. One of the standout features is going to be the flip-and-store hitch ball.
So when you're not towing, the ball is going to simply flip over and store inside of this hitch. Now, unfortunately, I'm unable to demonstrate that for you just because of the way that I have this set up. I don't have enough support on my tabletop to actually demonstrate that for you without my blocks collapsing. But I just wanted to set this up, especially with the hardware here, just to kind of give you an idea of what this is going to look like. As you can see here, you have this lever here, and you're going to be able to pull that like that, and you'll pull it all the way out until it locks, and there's dual locking pins inside there.
And so you'll just drop the ball in, and then you'll retract the handle, and then that will lock the ball into place. And then when you're ready, when you don't need to use this and you just want to flip the ball upside down and store it within, then you'll just do the same thing. You'll pull this open, take the ball out, flip it upside down, drop it in, and then lock it back in upside down. And then you'll have full usage of your bed. So installation is going to be made easier than traditional gooseneck hitches.
This is going to be custom-designed, again, for the model of Rams that we looked at. And the compact components is going to make this much more manageable to install on your own. And it also includes this built-in center locator that's going to help you accurately mark where to drill the hitch ball hole. That's going to reduce the chance of mistakes. And best of all, insulation doesn't require removing the bed of your truck, it doesn't require welding or lowering the exhaust or spare tire. You only need to drill the required holes for the hitch ball and safety chain loops. And by the way, they're right here. So for security and durability, as I mentioned, this hitch uses a double-locking ball system, and it has two internal locking pins that are going to keep that ball firmly secured, even when towing those heavy loads over uneven roads. And this hitch is built for serious towing. It comes with this 2-5/16-inch ball, and it's rated for up to 38,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and 9,500 pounds of vertical load. And then if you need even more capacity, you can upgrade to an optional 3-inch hitch ball, that's sold separately from this. And that's going to increase the rating up to 40,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and 10,000 pounds of vertical load. This hitch is constructed from heavy-duty steel. It is protected with a corrosion-resistant liquid A coat finish to help resist rust and extend its service life. It also features these spring-loaded safety chains loops that are going to sit low in the bed of the truck, keeping them out of the way while remaining easily accessible whenever you hook up your trailer. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. And this red grip here is going to slide onto the end of the handle there. So, like I said, I kind of loosely assembled this to kind of give you an idea of what this is going to look like put together. One thing to keep in mind is this hitch is designed for trucks without the factory fifth wheel prep package, so it's not going to be compatible with trucks equipped with that factory towing system.
