The patent-pending, High-Density Tri-Extruded (HDTE) material features a rigid core for strength and produces surface friction with the carpet for better grip. Advanced surfacing creates channels that carry fluids and debris to a lower reservoir, which has more channeling to help minimize fluid movement while you are driving.     The factory retention devices mentioned in the installation instructions for WeatherTech floor liners WT450341 would be small knobs in the front floorboards of the vehicle. Some, but not all vehicles are equipped with these. If your 2007 Hummer H3 does have the knobs, they should be toward the outer left on the driver side or outer right on the passenger side.     On the 2008 Nissan Altima sedan there will either be a retention device just on the driver side or there will be one on both the driver and passenger side. I could not find anything that indicated how to determine this without just looking under the mats on each side. You would just have to be sneaky about it and pull the mats up on each side.
