Video Transcript for Setting up the WeatherTech 2nd Row Rear Auto Floor Mat on a 2022 Ford Edge

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the WeatherTech second row rear auto floor mats and how they fit in our 2022 Ford Edge. Your first step will likely be to get your old mats out of the way. We've already done that. So now it's just a matter of fitting these in. I like to go kind of at a top-down angle, especially to get it underneath this center console here.

And then it's sort of just a matter of getting one side in, adjusting it. And then I'll come over here, adjust this side as well, and just like that they're installed. Taking a closer look at the mat, you can see that we do have these ridges or these channels here. So instead of just having it all be flat and having everything spread all over the place, especially if there was liquid or debris that you're just tracking, it'll store into one place where you can just vacuum it up if it's just debris, or you can take 'em out, rinse 'em off. It might be a little bit more difficult with the one piece design 'cause you're probably gonna have to twist and manipulate it a little bit to get them out.

But it is still an option for you. Having it all be one piece does have pros and cons. The main pro being the fact that you do get complete coverage. So if you didn't have this here, there'd be an opening. So as well as anything could fit against the side, things could still definitely get in between the walls on the side and messes would just tend to soak in here versus just rolling down and into those channels we talked about.

So again, that does make for complete coverage and that's really nice but again, also makes for the installation just being a little bit more tricky to get it in and out. So if you do have messes and spills that store up, you can't just necessarily pop it out. You're gonna have to twist it a little bit. So again, just sort of ups and downs, but overall, I think that having that coverage is a really good thing. On our driver's side mat again we can take a really close look at just how well it contours around all our edges here.

So even the smaller corners up into under our seat, it's all covered and it all has a nice little raised wall on it, so it's gonna be really hard for messes to escape down under our chair or along the sides. The mat is gonna be made out of a durable, rubberized plastic material. So it's gonna be flexible, but it's still gonna hold up to long-term use, whether that's just tracking things in and out, removing it fairly often, or maybe you have kids or a dog back here, whatever it is, it's gonna be really durable. It's gonna hold up. As you can see right now, we have the black color which matches our interior really well but there are a couple of different color options available. So overall, if you're looking for a great way to get a little bit more coverage on the back of your vehicle, maybe again you have some kids or family that you're just trying to keep messes from storing up, and you want something that you can just take out, clean off, put back in, and because it is that one piece, you get complete coverage.
