Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the WeatherTech custom-fit cargo liner for your 2017 Ford Explorer. So this is gonna be a lot more durable, compared to the regular cloth style mats that you have in your vehicle, if you already have a cargo liner. Most vehicles do not have a custom fit cargo liner like this, designed for this entire cargo space. You also have the material of a high density tri extruded material, which means it has a dense core to hold up to your dirt, your snow, your water, and even some of your chemicals. This has channels on the inside, just to help with if you spill any liquids, to channel it through.
But then once you get to the end, you also have this lip, so that way it makes it easier for you to clean up your messes, 'cause then you can just hold the whole thing and dump it out the back. Notice the texture on the mat as well. This gives it a nice, clean look, but also prevents your items from sliding around or getting too slippery. It's still a very smooth mat though, so you don't have to worry about it roughing up your cargo. So this is a premium cargo liner at a premium price.
Now I keep a WeatherTech cargo liner in my vehicle, mainly because it is an investment that I expect to last the lifetime of my car. So if you're looking for other options, though and maybe you don't need that durable core or that strong heavy duty material, you may wanna check out the etrailer universal cargo liner. It is universal, so not as custom fit, but you still have a lot of material to cover all of your cargo area, for if you need that extra protection. WeatherTech also has some other options. So maybe you want to use your third row of seats and just protect that bottom, back area.
You can find one that fits your third row. You can also find a mat that fits within your second row, or your front seats. Now you can find all of them here at etrailer. And this creates a heavy duty surface for when you're carrying cargo in your trunk, while also it is custom fit, to fit around the contours of your Explorer. So if you have a third row, this is designed to be used with your third row down. Also, I recommend vacuuming or detailing the back of your vehicle before putting this on. Not required, but it's just helpful that way. So once those seats are down, you can then just pop that liner into there. And, it's a little folded up right now, so I do recommend maybe leaving it out in the sun or getting it warm if you want it to truly fit around the contours. We'll see how well the lip fits around the walls of your vehicle. This will sit it more flush once it is warm. It even has those cutouts, for things like your seat belts or your storage hooks. So you are gonna have to take that mat out if you wanna put your third row back up. But, as you can see, it's super easy just to take out and put back in. And you're ready to go.
