Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting or splicing required.
Features:
Specs:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the rear threshold panel and interior lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, run the red hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Hopkins Plug-In Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Four-Way Flat Trailer Connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2014 to 2019 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now this kit here provides this four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle.
Power your trailer signal lights. It is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately. Does include everything laid out here on the table and includes the four-way wiring harness with the converter box. Four-way dust cap, a length of wire, an inline fuse holder with the fuse and a terminal grease packet and some cable ties that take up any slack in the wiring. Basically this will connect very quickly and easily.
All you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the tail lights, plug in these connectors, one on each side, ground your white wire, and then you'll run your power wire to your vehicle's battery. This does include this box here, which is a circuit-protected tail light converter box, and that's to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It'll provide protection against electrical shorts and overloads. It is a powered module, so it does connect directly to your battery to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. Now the maximum amperage on this harness is, for the stoplight stop and turn lights, is three amps per circuit, for the taillights, six amps per circuit.
And just quickly to show you how this all goes together, again, what you'll do is go to the back of your vehicle behind the taillights and you'll find where these will connect. You'll take the connector with the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver side, unplug it, plug these in. And then for the passenger side, you'll take the wire with the green in it. That'll run all the way over to the passenger side. You'll do the same, unplug it and then plug this in.
And then run your length of wire with the four-way on it out towards the back. Now you'll have two wires left to connect, the red wire, which is the power and the white with the eyelet, which is the ground. On this white wire, you just wanna connect this to a good clean ground that's nearby. And then with the red power wire, you're gonna run that to the vehicle's battery. And the way you can do that is they give you some length of wire, there's a butt connector on there. You'll plug in one end of this length of wire and then run the length of wire to your battery. And you don't wanna connect it directly to the battery. You wanna run it through the in-line fuse holder. So you have the other butt connector on this side, it'll connect. The eyelet connector will attach to your battery, pop open, make sure there's a 15 amp fuse included in there. And then you'll have some extra cable ties to take up any length of wire that might need to be taken up. The package of terminal grease, you wanna apply that to all your electrical connections. And then you'll have your dust cap that you can actually install to your four-way. And you can leave it installed if you want. You don't have to keep, but once you get that pulled over there, you can just leave it on there. But then when you're not plugged into a trailer, just put that over the terminals and it protects them from any damage or from the elements. But that should do it for a look at this Hopkins Plug-In Vehicle Wiring Harness with the Four-Way Flat Trailer Connector.
Product is exactly as described.Looks to be a job that should be completed in 30 minute or less. Clear instructions, easy to understand. It makes supplying wiring for the trailer a very easy, plug and play operation.
Great product as expected. Got here very quickly.Called customer service
with some questions, very helpful and friendly.
I was really disappointed with this product, this item is replacing the exact same item I purchased 4 months ago and got to use 3 times before it failed. Unfortunately the warranty window is 90 days so I got stuck having to buy another one. Hopefully this one doesnt turn out to be a piece of garbage like the first one.
Worked fine until it quit.
I’m replacing it with the same & thinking it was a fluke that caused the malfunction

When a taillight converter fails, the usual cause is a short circuit somewhere in the trailer wiring. Before installing the replacement, youll want to carefully examine the lighting circuits on the trailer, looking for loose connections, pinched or broken wires or wire with cracked or worn insulation that would allow the copper conductor to short out to the trailer frame. If you dont locate and repair the short, youll continue to short out converters.
Works just fine until it quits. Not sure what causes it. I just get another
Worked GREAT!

liked it very much and I still do.EXCEPT, about a month ago both tail lights and the left turnbrake outputs went dead.At this time I cant rule out a bad connection or wiring issues, but because of the length of time it requires to get at them I ordered a new unit from your companyso I could replace it if the unit was at fault.I have been waiting for it to arrive seems you need to get it from the manufacture first to diagnose and effect the repair. I am very impressed and pleased with the representatives from your company I have spoken to,especially the most recent one who took my order for another of these units Amanda H.The replacement unit is on its way to me, and I plan to work on the car this weekend.
