These custom front tie-downs mount directly to the truck’s frame—the strongest part of the vehicle—so your camper stays stable and centered during long hauls. By spreading the camper’s weight evenly and keeping its center of gravity low, the setup keeps handling tight and predictable even in strong crosswinds or uneven terrain. The frame-mounted design eliminates the top-heavy sway that can happen with bed or bumper mounts, giving you a solid, confident ride.
You don’t have to give up your truck’s clean lines just because you’re hauling a camper now and then. Once the trip’s over, pull the arms from the brackets and they’re barely visible under the truck. The tie-downs tuck up close to the frame for a nearly invisible look until it’s time to load up again.

These tie-downs bolt right into pre-existing holes in the frame, so there’s little to no drilling and no cutting required. Each one is built for a precise fit that lines up perfectly with factory mounting points. That means an install that goes smoothly with basic tools and a setup that sits tight to the frame, keeping ground clearance high so you don’t snag anything off-road or in uneven lots.
Made from black powder-coated steel, these tie-downs are built to handle years of use and exposure without rusting or corroding. The durable finish helps them stand up to road salt, rain, and vibration from long-distance travel—all while keeping their strength where it matters most: holding your camper steady mile after mile.
Each arm includes two pin holes so you can extend them just enough to clear sidewalls or fenders for a clean line to your camper anchors. Two anchor holes on each plate let you fine-tune your setup for proper tension and secure hold with turnbuckles (sold separately). This makes it easy to get a snug, stable connection that keeps your camper locked in place without stressing your truck or hardware.

Hi Jim! I can see why that would be frustrating for sure. The good news is you usually don’t have to do anything drasticmost fixes come down to slightly repositioning the exhaust system rather than fully relocating it. That can mean loosening and adjusting a bolt-on hanger, adding a small spacer, or even tweaking the hanger position just enough to create some clearance. I’ll drop this article here since it walks through a few simple ways to fix it step-by-step, but overall you’re on the right track it’s typically just a matter of giving the exhaust a little more room so nothing is rubbing or under tension. This help article is about a hitch install but it still applies here.

Glad to hear you are liking them, Milton! And I agree, the TorkLift tie downs are superior to the HappiJac tie downs. They are just more secure and heavier duty. At least in my opinion. And that sounds like quite the trip! Was it just a camping trip or did you do some fishing and or hunting?

I reached out to the manufacturer. They advised that they think it is a combination of the Northern light camper anchor point location being situated so far back on the camper and possibly the front of the camper not being all the way against the bulkhead of the bed if it is moving forward still. Otherwise, everything looks typical of a truck camper and truck installation. If it has any room to slide forward, it will in a sudden braking situation.

Jenny thanks for your reply and diligence in reaching out to TorkFit. The NL camper does have forward bumpers for abutting the bulkhead. However when bulkhead contact is made the body of the my 21 Silverado makes contact with the fiberglass body of the camper. The pressure from a recent ‘sudden stop’ and ‘slide forward’ created enough pressure to chip paint on the truck. The bumpers make contact with the bulkhead about 10”-12” above the bed-bulkhead connection. The 90* corner at bottom, this should be the strongest area. I will install stop chocks at future loadings. I’ll also attempt to possibly install the TorkFits in a more vertical position. Thanks.

A year later, I just got back from camping trip. I love the easy set up of these hitches. I’m a 65 year old woman, and I can put these mounts on my truck in less than five minutes. Then, another 10 or 15 to put the chains and turn buckles on, make them tight. I usually drive about 5 miles maybe 10, go get gas, and give all the chains a shake to make sure they’re still tight. If not, spin the turnbuckles a time or Two. And off, I go. I am extremely happy with this investment. Of all the things I bought after buying the camper, this has brought me the most security and feeling of safety. Good luck, happy camping whatever you decide.

These tie downs are sill working as advertised. I have travelled over 20,000 mi with them in various conditions with about 10 of that time in dirt roads or 4wd roads. Nothing too crazy, but with my camper and these tied downs I am confident that the camper will remain attached and be secure. It hardly moves around at all. They are worth the money and I can still remember how easily they installedvery welll thought out design and installation!
