Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Erickson ratchet tie down strap with double J hooks. This is going to measure one inch by 25 feet, and it has a safe working load limit of 1,000 pounds.This ratchet strap is going to help to do the work for you by tightening down with that ratchet capability. It is going to be a nice long strap with that 25 foot length. The way this is going to work is that we'll have our strap looped through the slot in the hole there and then as you ratchet down, it just pulls it through. You can also open that up with the release lever so that it'll pull those tabs up and you can actually free spool that strap back out. To release it back, just pull up on the lever in the middle there, it's going to be that handle that springs up, allows you to either open it up or flatten it out.All of our metal portions, the hooks and the ratcheting lever, those are all going to be made of a yellow dichromate plated steel, so it's going to be durable as well as resisting rust.
It's going to have a durable yellow polyester webbing, and as you can see, we have this nice cross stitching at each end, so the hook is going to stay in place, we don't have to worry about that coming undone or fraying or anything like that.Now, as far as the dimensions, again, it is going to be one inch by 25 feet long. The J hook is going to measure about two inches from the end to the end of the hook. The safe working load limit again, is going to be 1,000 pounds, our max load or break strength is going to be 3,000 pounds. This is one strap, but you want to keep in mind that it's always a good idea to have two straps to secure any load that you're working with. And you want to keep in mind that you don't want your cargo to exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used.
For example, if you're using a strap with a working load limit of 5,000 pounds each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 pounds, then you would need at least two straps to safely secure that load. So it's always recommended that you use these in pairs to make sure that you have everything loaded up safely and securely.That's going to do it for our look at the Erickson ratchet tie down strap with double J hooks.

Just right for lashing down my SUV to my trailer. Really like the D-ring for rapping around and hooking where the hook is to small to clasp suspension etc.
This is particularly excellent. Take time to study the picture on the packaging in order to make proper use of the hook and D ring. Unless you use these as intended, they will not work satisfactorily. Properly used, it is a superior design.
Received these straps yesterday and used them today to secure a Buick Rainier to my flatbed trailer and then a Honda Pilot. Super high quality through and through. Also, etrailer is awesome. Very quick delivery.

The axles straps were the correct length with heavy metal clips in the ends to attach the ratchet straps. Both are outstanding product items.

dont put them an anything that is even slightly potentially abrasive or they will be ruined in no time. First time towing my sub compact utility trailer these were destroyed. I believed I was careful in locating tie down points but they were damaged before the end of my first short term destination.
I was looking for a heavy duty strap and a medium size. This fit the bill perfectly. The D style handle makes heavy ratcheting easy because all of your fingers can be used to pull on the ratchet. The ratchet release is also large enough to be able to release the strap with ease even under a heavy load. Well built with nice attention to detail. I will buy this product again if future straps are needed. The strap that I bought had S hooks rather than J hooks but that was what I was looking for anyway.
With a new enclosed trailer, etrailer had everything I need to install anchors for my antique autos and keep them secure. The pre-packaged Brophy D Rings with backing plates and bolts made shopping easy and ensured that everything will match up. Unfortunately my new trailer has a drop axle, so I needed a hitch with a greater drop. No problem, etrailer had that, too! I ordered on a Saturday. The order was picked that day and delivered on Tuesday. Fantastic service! I'm a repeat customer and have never been disappointed.
These are great straps. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The yellow coating (zinc maybe?) on the ratchet portion keeps these from developing rust and these run for a long time without binding, even though I leave them exposed to the elements in the bed of my truck. The strap material itself is somewhat stiffer than most other nylon strap materials, which can be slightly harder to throw when strapping a tall load, but these are also likely much stronger even though they are rated the same as other straps. I recommend them.
Accurate, quick, efficient, good price, good value. Perfect for adding some new life to an aging boat trailer, cheaper than a craiglist used trailer replacement, better than a backyard quick fix. Nice price on some add-on straps and tie-downs was a bonus and put the order up into the free shipping minimum.

My order came quickly and you could see right away they were heavy duty and well made. I hauled an antique tractor 140 miles without having to worry about it staying right where I strapped it. Very nice straps and easy to use.
Great strap for tow dollies. I ordered 2 of them and removed the lower portion of the strap and bolted in place. they would probably be great for hauling also. i have a few straps like them for the trailer. the ratcheting mechanism looks good and solid. and they handle tightening the straps very well.
Amazed by the prompt order confirmation, shipping info and speed. You can tell right away the quality difference between this tie down and those you can find at your local HFT or WM, sturdy constructions and mechanism, would buy again anytime!!
These straps do what they are supposed to. They keep my Rhino right where I want it on the trailer. I trimmed them and only use them for a specific task and it makes them much easier to install/remove. I recently pulled my trailer to Colorado and back with absolutely no scary moments. Once in a great while one or other strap would need a click or two but I can depend on these straps do keep it on the trailer.
