Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style
We have been using the Thule Bike Carrier (Item TH910XT) for over a year now, and it is wonderful! We throw our two mountain bikes on the back of our Volvo XC60...it takes only a few minutes, the bikes are sturdily secured, and off we go! Never had a problem mounting or dismounting, and always with peace of mind while we drive. Well done, etrailer.com!
The Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rake for 2 bikes is a good product. I used it to transport my mountain e-bike. I choose this particular unit because it can handle the weight 2 of bikes (non-e-bikes) and the weight of my e-bike is equivalent to weight of 2 bikes. Note: Must readjust the straps after mounting the bike to the rake.

Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
Excellent fit (Volvo XC60) and solid construction. And after the learning curve, easy and relatively quick to install. Clearly a lot of thought went into the design of this bike rack. The additional bar (bike frame adapter) for a women’s bike is a must but easy and hassle free.
I have not taken the rack on a trip as yet. A 400-mile trip next week. On the run-through of putting it together, it was fine. Somewhat difficult on my SUV because to put in the bicycle tether to avoid someone running off with the rack, I had to raise to hatch to get it installed. The rack had to already be in place. Was nerve-racking, not knowing what would happen when I opened the automatic hatch. I look forward to using it. Only lost one star because of weight. Rather heavy. That may also mean it is strong though.

Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
We initially purchased this rack to transport 3 adult road bikes ~1,100 miles on the back of a 2018 Volvo XC60 T8. Pros: This is much more substantial/solid than an older Yakima rack I own. It securely held the 3 bikes in place with minimal bounce or sway. The installation instructions are clear and you go online to get the specific rack settings for your vehicle. Cons: - The distance between the bike cradles is a relatively narrow 3". - The rack itself is heavy (30 lbs shipping weight) making the install a 2-person job. - For my vehicle, you install the rack using what they call "anchor mode". Instead of attaching hooks to the outside of the car and tightening straps to secure, the hooks go inside the car, you thread the straps through the top and bottom of the tailgate, and then close the tailgate. The hooks aren't "hooked" onto anything but rather are "trapped" inside. You then reconnect straps to the rack and tighten the straps while you support the rack in place. While this is secure, holding the heavy rack in place while reconnecting straps requires 2 people. Further, once attached, you CANNOT OPEN THE TAILGATE until you are ready to take the bikes AND the rack off. So if you want to put the rack on and leave it on without opening/closing the tailgate, this will work fine (we left the rack on the entire trip and got stuff out of the rear area by dropping the second row seats). But give this some consideration if (a) you're single and don't have easy access to an assistant; (b) your car requires anchor mode (you can check online first); and (c) you want easy access to the trunk/tailgate.

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Way too light duty for what is advertised. It seemed to be made out of 1/2 inch electrical conduit. I would never put three bikes on that rack. I only had two bikes on the rack. While on trip through Idaho the wind was so strong that one of the bikes partially blew off the rack. We traveled 1,800 miles and upon arriving home I actually sawed the bike rack up and threw it away so that no one else would use it and cause an accident. I've already found a different brand that is HEAVY DUTY and I will stick with that brand.
This is definitely more of a 2 bike carrier vs 3 bikes. I had to take the front wheels off two bikes to get three bikes on this carrier. Also, it rubbed the paint off on the trunk of my Subaru legacy.
What our customers are saying:
"I would like to say that you did a great job on delivery the hitch and bike rack. The equipment was exactly as in the literature and fit very well on our van. It arrived right on schedule so we could enjoy our cub scout bike wekend. Thanks, Greg"
