When you’re towing heavy equipment, big campers, or loaded trailers, you need gear that won’t flinch. This solid, 1-piece forged steel ball mount is rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 21,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 2,800 lbs. It’s built to handle serious hauling without bending or flexing under pressure.
Getting your trailer level keeps things steady on the road and stops sway before it starts. This mount offers a 2" rise or 4" drop so you can fine-tune your setup for even towing. The working length is 9" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, giving plenty of space for a clean connection.
Sometimes what you want is a mount that just works—no moving parts, no adjustments, no fuss. The fixed design slides into your 3" x 3" hitch receiver and gives you a stable base for your hitch ball (sold separately). With fewer parts to rattle or loosen, this mount stays quiet and dependable trip after trip.
Heavy towing means exposure to all kinds of weather and road conditions. The corrosion-resistant carbide black powder coat helps protect the forged steel against rust and wear. It keeps the mount looking clean and holding strong through rain, salt, and daily use.

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Curt heavy duty forged ball mount for three-inch hitches. Now this ball mount lets you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank slides into the hitch on your vehicle, and then the ball platform provides a mounting point for a trailer hitch ball, which is sold separately. We have a lot of those available at etrailer.com if you're in need of one. This unit is a solid one-piece forged steel construction, very strong and durable, no weak points, no welds. Features a corrosion resistant carbide black powder-coated finish to resist rust and corrosion, and look good for many years. You can use this in either the drop or rise positions, so both positions are available to ensure level towing.
That is secured in your hitch, you will need a hitch pin and clamp, or a hitch lock. Those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The pin holes on this unit will accept a standard five-eighth inch diameter pin.Again, it is designed to slide into a three-inch by three-inch trailer hitch receiver. The unit offers a maximum gross trailer capacity of 21,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 2,800 pounds. A few measurements I just wanna mention for you real quick.
I did take a measurement of the distance from the center of the hitch ball hole going straight back to the center of the hitch pin holes, and I got a measurement of nine inches. When you're using this in a drop position, it's gonna give you a drop of four inches. That's from the inside top edge of the receiver tube of your hitch down to the top of the ball platform. When you're using it in the rise position, it's gonna give you a rise of two inches from the inside top edge of the receiver to your hitch up to the top of the ball platform. And then when choosing the hitch ball, you wanna make sure you get a hitch ball that has a shank that fits this hole appropriately. And the diameter measurement there is an inch and a quarter.
The product is also covered with a limited lifetime warranty, and that's gonna do it for today's look at the Curt heavy duty forged ball mount for three inch hitches.

Great customer service!!
THE RECEIVER HITCH WAS PLENTY HEAVY ENOUGH FOR IT PURPOSE. I THANK YOU FOR SHIPPING THE HITCH SO QUICKLY.
This is hard to find and was delivered quickly and is exactly as expected.
I have a pickup with a 3" receiver, and this fits well. The pickup is rated for up to 21,000 pounds, and 10% tongue weight, which this mount supports/exceeds.
The three times I have rented a heavy duty trailer since having this setup, the guys at the rental location say "Thats a stout ball mount!" I don't have any plans to tow beyond 10k, but there is the possibility, so I bought the ball mount and ball to support 21k.
I already have one for my camper ball and needed another for my other trailers so I wouldn’t have to switch’s balls on the mount all the time….. now I just pull the pin and swap out the whole thing
