Note: This sensor can only be used with a system that includes a RVS monitor and multiplexer.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the rear view safety backed up sensor reversing system. Now this reversing system is an automatic back-up alert system that warns you of potential obstacles behind your vehicle, anywhere from 12 inches to 7 feet away. This system is designed to work in conjunction with a back-up camera system. So, please keep in mind that the RVS-112 only works with certain model numbers. Now basically this unit will work with any system that has a monitor, a back-up camera, and uses a multiplexer, which is going to look just like this unit right here. This is not included, I pulled this just to show you what a multiplexer looks like.
But if your unit has a monitor, a back-up camera and uses a multiplexer, then the RVS-112 should work for your application. The distance to the obstacles will be displayed on the back-up camera monitor. Audio alerts are going to be supported by the monitor as well. This unit is activated when the driver engages the reverse gear. The audio pulse intensity increases and the audio frequency changes as the vehicle backs closer to an obstacle. The unit also detects moving objects. Such as: pedestrians, animals, machinery, like a forklift, or other moving vehicles that may be behind your vehicle and in harms way.
The four sensors, which are these components right here, these are going to mount at the rear of the vehicle. The sensors are completely waterproof. They only have a diameter of about one inch, so they're a nice small compact design. The unit also comes with four rubber grommets for watertight installation. Each sensor cable runs to the sensor box, which is this unit right here.
It's going to plug in to the corresponding labeled ports. So that's very easy to get connected. This wire right here is going to be your power harness. That's going to contain a red, orange, and black wire. The other end, which is that small port right there.
Now it is fuse protected, but this small port right here plugs in to the BZ/DC connection point on the sensor box. The orange wire . They're all labelled. Orange goes to constant 12 volt power. Red goes to 12 volt reverse power, and then black is your ground wire. Now the sensors integrate in to the back-up camera system and they actually use the same cable to run through the vehicle to the monitor. It's going to come with the Y-adapter. This connects to the camera and then it connects to the camera cable that runs through the vehicle. The port coming off of this harness plugs in to the DSP port right here on the sensor box. The cable that runs through the vehicle will carry the signals both from the back-up camera and the sensors. Just plug that cable in the port number 3 on the multiplexer that came with your camera system. Now in order to hear the sensor audio alerts, you will need to connect the blue trigger wire coming off the multiplexer to the 12 volt reverse power. Please keep that in mind as well. Each sensor wire, which are these four components here, measure around 15 feet long. The power cable measures around 46 inches long. When mounting the control box, it can be mounted using a couple screws. Mounting hardware is not included. But what is included is the adhesive pad that can be used to mount the sensor box as well. It's also going to come with your quick wire connectors for connecting the orange, red and black wires. That's going to do it for today's look at the rear view safety back-up sensor reversing system.
I installed it on the front of my truck,to see the vehicle in front of me,when I park.dont want to get too close.
great product , a lot less expensive than factory
My order arrived quickly and was pleased with the cost. The installation video on the website is informative. I have yet to install the back up sensor system but expect it to go smoothly. Purchased for a 2019 Ford Transit 250.
Overall, the installation went well. The video helped lot. I chose to not use the clips on the console, and mounted it underneath on the top of the bezel around the instrument cluster. The on/off switch was kind of hard to get to, so I incorporated my own switch on the dash. By running a separate ground wire through to the dash to that switch, I was able to achieve this. I use the on off switch when hooked to a trailer. This unit seems to fill my backup sensor needs, without an extra effort to install. Works pretty good too.
Recieved my etrailer order yesterday. Received it very quickly, I ordered two items,
a back-up camera system and sensor set-up. Very pleases with what I have seen of it. Will install it this weekend, can't wait.
