Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Taylor Made Bimini top deck hinges. These are going to replace a broken or worn deck hinge on your boat's gunwale to create that attachment point for your Bimini top support poles so that you can open and close that top. These are a chromed Zamak construction. So they're going to resist corrosion and be a very sturdy, solid option for you.
They do insert onto your support pole eye end with the included bolts here. So you just back that out. Put your eye end in there, put the bolt back in. It will allow you to adjust that top. The screws are included to get this attached to the top of your boat's gunwale.
So everything that you're going to need is included there for this piece of the bracket. Obviously the top and the eye-ends for your poles are not included.As far as our dimensions. These are right about two and a half inches wide or long. Call it right about an inch, maybe just shy of an inch, about seven-eighths of an inch wide, and then our height, looking at right about an inch tall. The bolt diameter here is a quarter of an inch.
So make sure that your eye end will accept that quarter inch bolt. You're going to get the two hinges and the four screws to get them attached to your boat;s gunwale. I like the design, as it allows mounting on the inner gunnal ledge where the boat windows slant inward. With the angled nature of this product, the bimini frame arms can easily reach and fit to it.
