Features to know about

Fits Deck Layouts That Can't Use Fixed Rails

Ladder in use

Some pontoon layouts don't leave enough room for permanently mounted ladder rails near the stern. The Free-Fit design separates the ladder structure from the handrail placement, letting the 3-piece stainless steel handrails work around your deck layout instead of forcing a fixed mounting position. You can keep boarding access at the back of your boat without giving up usable deck space.

Retracts Without Bending Over the Stern

Retracting the ladder

Reaching down at the back of the boat to pull up a ladder gets awkward fast after a swim or tow session. The one-step retraction system folds and deploys the ladder from a standing position, cutting down on the extra crouching and reaching at the platform edge.

More Foot Room Climbing Back Aboard

Close-up of steps

Short narrow ladder steps get slippery fast once everyone's climbing back onboard with wet feet. Wide-set slip-resistant treads give more surface contact while climbing, which matters when the ladder is moving with waves or wakes behind your pontoon. Boarding feels more controlled instead of balancing on narrow rungs.

400-lb Capacity for Assisted Boarding

Helping kids, pets, or adults back onto your boat puts more combined weight and movement on a stern ladder than solo boarding alone. The 400-lb rating covers the added load that comes with helping someone climb back aboard.

Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Boat Ladders - Boat Stern Ladder - LC24FP

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at the Lippert Sure Step. It's a free fit retractable stern ladder. It's built for those fun days on the water. Folks, if you've ever tried climbing back into a boat using a ladder, that was either too short, too flimsy, or just plain awkward, you know how important a good stern ladder can be and how much easier it can make your life, whether you're swimming, tubing, skiing, and you're getting out of the water from sand bars, those kind of good weekends, getting back on board should be easy and safe. Now, we do offer this in both black or the polished silver look.

So there are two different part numbers, so make sure you're getting the right part number for the one you're wanting. I'll put the black one and the polished silver one up on the screen for you, as far as the different part numbers. I just brought the black kit in here just so you can see side by side what they look like. There's a little closer shot of them side by side, the black powder coat versus the polished look. And one of my favorite features is that these are wide steps.

It is rated at 400-pound capacity. It'll get you a stable, confident climb back up outta the water, and it's actually an extra long ladder. So that means you're not gonna have to struggle, especially reaching the first step. So you've got a long swim, you're tired, or you just fall off the tube, you're wearing a life vest. Those kind of things, all those things add up to being, you know, making it harder to get outta the water.

So this takes a lot of that struggle out for you. Not only do you get these stable, secure handrails, you also get the flexibility of a nice wide foot and ladder. So what's neat about this one, they're gonna give you this kind of pad here for extra grip on top and put that to the side. But once you're up, you're gonna be able to pull this strap up and literally pull the steps up and store them down here. So when they're stored, they're gonna be stored up just like this.

You can see it's a small footprint. And then when they're up in place, you do have a buckle over here that'll snap onto the arm rail. I don't have that installed obviously on the boat, so I can't do that for you. But you get the picture right, and then when it's time to fold 'em down, same thing, you'll just let that strap back down, gently. It'll fold down by itself like that into the water. So you have a straight and a nice gradual slant back up into the boat using the handrails. Now the ladder itself is a marine grade stainless steel, so it's made to handle the harsh conditions of life on the water. So whether you're in fresh water or salt water, this is designed to be corrosion resistant and hold up for years and years to come. And like I mentioned, when you're on your way, it retracts up nice and easy. Back up here. And then I did mention there is a buckle that you would snap on. I don't have it installed, but that buckle will get screwed in place right here. And it's kind of like the buttons on your jeans, if you will and you'll take that, unsnap it from there, snap it on here to keep everything up in place. Once you get it, retract it up and it really does retract and extend really, really effortlessly. I personally like the polished look, myself over the black. Personally, I think the black might get hot in the summer, but who knows Again, we talked about the wide step. We talked about them being lightweight. We talked about the retraction. So again, whether you're spending weekends at the lake or the ocean, you're making memories. You don't wanna be fighting, getting up and down outta the water, this is gonna make your day a lot easier and have it more enjoyable. Once again, folks, we carry these in the black finish or in the polished silver look. I'm Stephen with etrailer. Thanks for watching.
