The Pro Series weight distribution systems rated for 1,000 pounds tongue weight actually have a capacity of 750 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight. Despite this range it is still too high for a tongue weight of 585 pounds. However, you also have to add the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the vehicle to the trailer tongue weight. So if you have 165 pounds behind the rear axle of the vehicle that would get you to 750 pounds. There are lower capacity bars but they would not fit...

The bars that you have now on your 750 pound Pro Series weight distribution system should be # PS58440. These are found on RB and RB3 systems but will not work with RB2 systems. So for 1,000 pound spring bars that fit the RB and RB3 systems you would use # PS58441 and they will fit in the same head and brackets that you already have.

You are correct. There are just two differences between part # PS1400950376 and part # PS1400960376. The crank handle is included with part # PS1400950376, and it is painted black. Great news! All you have to do is replace the spring bars on your Pro Series RB weight distribution system, # PS49901, to use the system with your heavier trailer. The bars I recommend are # PS58441. These bars are rated up to 1,000 pounds so a tongue weight of 750 to 800 pounds is ideal. These are the same bars that come on the Pro Series system # PS49583 that you referenced.

If you are looking at 960 lbs of tongue weight a 750 lb rated system like the part # PS49582 is going to be ineffective. If you are sure you wouldn't exceed 1,000 lbs you would need the part # PS49583 instead. This is the 1,000 lb tongue weight system. To upgrade your Pro Series part # PS49582 to a setup with a tongue weight range of 750 to 1,000 lbs you would need to change the bars to # PS58441.
