If you’ve ever worried about cab clearance when turning with a short-bed truck, this hitch takes that stress off your plate. The all-steel construction is both black powder coated and e-coated for corrosion resistance, and it’s tested to SAE J2638 standards. Hooking up is fast and secure thanks to the wraparound single-hook jaw. Once the king pin slides into place, the jaw closes automatically and the handle locks in position—no extra steps or fiddling required. The full-contact design cuts down on rattle compared to slide-bar setups, creating a solid connection that feels locked-in when you pull away.
A dual-pivot head lets the connection move front-to-back and side-to-side to follow your trailer’s motion. That flexibility helps limit chucking and creates a smoother ride over uneven roads. It feels more natural through dips or turns because the hitch head works with your trailer instead of against it.
When it’s time to clear the bed, the SuperGlide breaks down into manageable parts. The base weighs 160 lbs total with a removable hitch plate that comes off separately at about 40 lbs. You can lift the sections out one at a time without heavy equipment so you can switch from towing duty back to using your truck bed without hassle.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this PullRite super glide fifth wheel hitch for short bed trucks. Now this is rated for 24,000 pounds. You're gonna need a couple things to complete this kit. You're gonna need the industry standard above bed rails already installed in your vehicle.
You get them here at etrailer.com sold separately. Just check out our fit guide and you're also gonna need what's called a capture plate. The capture plate goes on the bottom side of your kingpin on the trailer end of the connection, and it keeps everything straight. And then, you know, helps lock everything into place when it's operating. So again, get those here separately at etrailer, you're gonna need some information.
You can find it here separately. Now, automatic slider. What's great about this is you no longer have to get outta your bed, outta your truck rather, go to the side of the bed, pull levers, do those kind of gizmos to make a turn. Now all you gotta do is just start making a turn. And what's gonna happen is it's gonna automatically start going, it's gonna push itself or pull itself all the way into the turn automatically, all the way up to a 90 degree turn.
And when you start going straight, it's gonna pull again. It's gonna basically lock back in straight. And then when you start making your turn, you get so far, it's gonna start pivoting back all the way back. And you can go up to 90 degrees that way. So very nice.
As you can see, it flows really smoothly. Now that being said, I've got this adjusted pretty loose on purpose just for demo. So make sure you read the instructions on adjusting this big screw up here as far as getting that set and everything, but it should be good. Now, as I said, you've got the industry standard rails. I've got these kind of loosely attached for demo today as well. And you got your safety pins that go through those ISR attachment points on those rails. Now, as far as the jaw, it's a self locking hitch plate. As you can see, the head can articulate up and down. Also side to side, I'm not gonna have enough weight to go side to side, but it does have dampeners and it's gonna help cushion that as well. Now everything's been persistently cut by lasers. So these wraparound jaws in here, you get to the side, you lift up the bar, pull it out, I've already got it pulled. And then this is gonna demo our king pin connection. You just simply back into place with your trailer, it's gonna automatically lock. Now I'm captured, I'm going on my way and I'm nice and safe. To unhook, same thing you would pull up and pull out. Now there's a lock here or a latch rather, or a piece of metal welded on the bottom that prevents this bar from pulling out until you lift it up. So to lock this for the instruction, you just put a padlock through here, right around here, and that prevents anyone from lifting this up to then pull it out. So once you got that pulled out, now you can simply just back your trailer up, pull it right out, and you're good to go on your way. Now everything here has been powder coat it to black powder coat construction over steel, and it also has an e coating on the steel itself, and that's gonna be corrosion resistant. You got your main square tubes here, that's what it's sliding on. It's gonna be nice and smooth. Like I was showing you. This has been tested to meet the SAEJ 26 38 standards. You have 18 inches of travel from the back of the cab of the truck to the rear just like this. So 18 inches of travel. The height of this head whenever it's flat from the ground here up is 16 and 3/4 inches tall. The whole unit's pretty heavy, weighs about 200 pounds. So make sure you got some helping hands to help you lift this in and out whenever you're installing it. I had to have a couple guys help me get on the table here today just for safety purposes. So again, make sure you're being safe whenever you're towing number one and whenever you're setting up everything to tow. Excellent product
Easy to assemble and to install very sa tisfied
Delivery was quick and professional. This is my second PullRite SuperGlide and both have been easy to install and "bullet proof" when towing. Installation instructions are a bit vague, especially when documenting where to mount the side brackets; however, on-line was clear, 5 holes back for a Ford puck system.
Hitch is very well made, which makes it heavy. This is why only 4 stars due to weight. Install was very easy. I do wish you could lock the hitch release once it is latched.
Matthew D bailed me out of a jam created by the idiots at Amazon and exasperated by the even greater idiots at Camping World. Delivered quickly via Estes box truck. Easy to assemble. I have the factory installed gooseneck fifth wheel hitch prep package in my Ford F350. Installation was relatively simple. Just had a play around and get the pucks lined up with a post perfectly and then it dropped right in place. definitely recommend watching YouTube on the pole right super glad hitch. It will help you adjust it properly. Great all around. Extremely happy with a hitch and extremely happy with etrailer.
I am a BIG fan of PullRite and the SuperGlide product. I bought this PUL28RR (2300 hitch with hardware for Ram HD factory bed prep). I installed it this weekend and it is definitely a two person job. My complaint with this setup is that unlike other SuperGlide hitches, there are tools required (3/4" wrench and 3/4" ratchet) if you want to temporarily remove the hitch to use the bed space. On top of that, the special brackets that fit the pre-formed slots in the Ram truck bed are "permanently" fastened because they utilize castle nuts and cotter pins to install them. The cotter pins are heavy duty and will require a great deal of strength to install and/or remove. I haven't towed with it yet but I'm positive it's more hitch than I need for my Montana High Country fifth wheel which is only about 14k pounds loaded. I appreciate the level of quality in the hitch, I just wish it were easier to remove the few times a year I need all of my truck bed.

Love the unit. Built well and looks amazing. The instructions was very instructional and simple. I installed the hitch in 30 minutes. That’s assembling the puck inserts and setting the unit in. I haven’t towed with it yet but looking forward to it.

my 76 year young wife and my 76 year old body unwrapped, assembled, and installed this hitch in 1.5 hours. tomorrow we tackle the hitch plate installation. the most difficult part of the install was lining up the hold down levers with the bed pucks. photos will follow when the job is complete. so far this is looking like a great investment.

300 lbs of slow and frustrating install when you are doing it alone. First catch plate was incorrect. Had to return and order the correct plate.
Once I got install attempting to hook up it would not fully lock.
I was hopeful but completely disappointed. I recommend finding something else.

Note: Clearance on both rear mount puck handles will touch fender wells when removing / install hitch.
So far so good after multiple trips. It is heavy, I used a overhead winch to load it in the bed, but it is solid. I don't think about turning, near full 90 degree turns and you don't even notice its working, always had PullRite hitches, great products and etrailer had great pricing and shipping!
Quick shipping and while I've only towed with it once so far, it seems to work just as advertised. Was a bit tight the first usage, but after lubricating it with WD40, and learning to raise the pin box to the right height, it started latching better. Overall, I believe this hitch will live up to it's reputation.

Only problem was one of the bolts provided was not machined correctly. E trailer did offer me a refund for the bolt I had to purchase. Assembly and install was less than 2 hrs. Including the trip to the hardware store. Good job E trailer! Love your costumer service.
I've been pulling my 5th wheel around with this slider hitch for a year now and it has worked perfectly. It fit right into my truck and has not given me any problems. I recommend this hitch to anyone who has a short bed with pre-installed receivers for the hitch.
Eat your wheaties and call a friend before trying to install it! It’s a heavy beast but well made. It would be nice if Pullrite offered the 16k and 20k hitches with Ram prep towing set up for puck system without having to use a puck conversion rail. 24k is way overkill and expensive for 12k 5th wheel! With that said, I will never use a fixed 5th wheel hitch in a short bed PU again! The performance of the Super slide is outstanding and solid. Took it to a parking lot with the 5th wheel hooked up to test turns, turn radius, bed/tailgate/ sidewall clearances and it performs flawlessly!! Pleasantly surprised by the performance and expectations exceeded for clearance concerns. A trip down the interstate around town was solid and very stable. Very pleased with overall performance! Would highly recommend for anyone hauling with a 6 1/2 foot bed. It will save you the cost of body work and replacement of a rear window! Happy Trails!!
