is the Blue Ox BX88255 KarGard II Deflector better than an old fashioned under coach rock guard and why is it better if it is.

Both the Karguard I part # BX8870 and the Karguard II # BX88255 will do a great job protecting your tow vehicle. The biggest difference is that the II is a fabric that lays horizontal instead of vertical like the I which gives you the same amount of protection, but it makes the installation and uninstallation much easier. Check out the picture I attached that shows what the II will look like when installed and stored.
