Hand Winch Recommendation for Raising and Lowering a Draw Bridge
Question:
I am building a play castle for my kids and want it to have a drawbridge. The drawbridge will probably weigh about 100 lbs and will need to be on hinges so that it can be raised and lowered. I now need a way that it can be raised and lowered by children at a controlled speed both up and down. I was thinking of a hand winch no electricity. Do you have a winch that would work in both directions? I do not want the drawbridge to come crashing down, or the winch to spin out of control. Any recommendations? Thank you,

The Dutton Lainson Worm Gear Winch part # DL10950 that you referenced would do an excellent job. This is the only style of hand winch we offer that is safe to use to suspend items in the air. This winch also does not have a free wheel option, so under no circumstances would it ever come crashing down.
I attached a review video for this product for you to check out as well.
