Question:
I have a Atwood 6.2 gal. Atwood Model GC6A-9FR water heater in the 2001 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome we are working on when we turn on the water in it we have water running from the bottom area where the hot water tank is we are thinking that we probably need to replace the tank?Is that the correct replacement number for this tank? And do you think its the tank because its so old?

Hey Tony, i would take a closer look at where the leak is and see if it's possibly the anode rod that is corroded to the point it's allowing the water heater to leak. This is more likely what is causing the leak than the tank but let me know either way.
The correct anode rod for an Atwood 6 Gallon Water Heater is the Camco RV Water Heater Anode Rod part # CAM11553 which measures 4-1/2" long x 1/2" diameter. There is also a version of this with a built-in drain valve, the part # CAM11533.
