What to Replace When I Get the Comm Error on a Lippert Ground Control 3.0 6-Point Leveling System

Question:

I have a 6 point Lippert leveling system with a 16039 controller. My touch pad was dead, no display so I bought a new touch pad. It now powers up but says no communication. The cable ohms out good so I dont think that is the issue. I thought I would ask is there anything else for me to check before I buy a new 16039 controller? The attached picture shows the touch pad connector unplugged when I was checking that, it is plugged back in now so you know that isnt the issue.

Hey Mark, sorry to hear about the trouble you're having!

There are 3 things to check when you get the comm error on your Lippert Ground Control system; the touch pad, the controller, and the wiring that connects the two.

Since you've already replaced the touch pad you'll want to inspect the wiring before purchasing and installing the Replacement 6-Point Controller # LC56VR. The wiring is part 232937 but we currently don't have this on our site. Let me know if the wiring is the issue (look for any damage) and I can see if this is something we can get added for you.

I did a continuity check on the cable and it is fine, so it looks like I'll have to order a new controller.
