Replacement Fabric for Dometic A&E 8500 Awning

Question:

I have a an and e model 8500 awning. I’m looking for a replacement awning fabric. It has the metal protection on the top. What replacement do I need? Thanks

Hi Doug; it looks like previous customers have said their Dometic A&E 8500 was a 21' awning. I recommend measuring from the center of the left arm to the center of the right arm to verify this. Assuming that is correct, you can choose from the following replacements based on color:

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Black Fade # LCV000334415

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Solid Black # LCV000334419

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Blue Fade # LCV000334421

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Burgundy Fade # LCV000334420

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Sand Fade to White # LCV000334418

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Silver Fade # LCV000334423

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Sand Fade to Black # LCV000334417

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - Green Fade # LCV000345102

-Replacement 17'1" Fabric for 18' RV Awning - Universal - White Fade # LCV000334416

Thanks for getting back. We have a 18 foot center to center. This will definitely fit our existing, correct? We have the protective metal cover at the top. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks

@DougL sorry I didn't address that part of your question, apparently I forgot after I added all of those parts. If the metal cover has a channel that the fabric slides into like the awning rail that is mounted on the side of your camper you will be able to use the fabric. If the fabric is attached to the metal cover and then attaches to the awning rail on the side of the camper you will have to special order that from Dometic. I'm not sure what the cost would be, but if it is too much you could always take off the metal cover and add a new rail extrusion like # LC715217 or # LC715216 to mount the Lippert replacement fabric. I also went ahead and updated all of the replacement fabric to match your 18' measurement.
