Why Is There A Dinging Noise Even After Pulling Fuses To Flat Tow A 2020 Buick Envision

Question:

We have a 2020 Buick Envision and ordered from Etrailer what we needed to tow. According to the Buick Car Manual, it says to Start the Car, put in Neutral, Shut the Car off, Remove 2 fuses #29 and #32 to stop the Dinging. When I pull the fuses, the Dinging continues. It eventually stops. I thought it should stop as soon as the fuses were pulled?? I cant seem to find anyone to tell me if this is normal? Thank you!

Removing the two fuses is to prevent battery drain and wouldn't necessarily stop a dinging noise. If the vehicle is still making a dinging noise after the fuses are pulled then they aren't what is powering the noise. There are multiple fuse blocks within the Envision so you'll first want to make sure you're pulling fuse 29 and 32 from the glove box fuse block and not from the engine compartment fuse block. These fuses are for the body control module 1 & 2, and I've attached a diagram below showing their locations within the fuse block.

Having done a bit of research into this and watching other videos of people setting up an Envision to flat tow the dinging does stop after the fuses are pulled so I would double check that you're pulling the correct fuses and that it's not dinging for a different reason (door open, key in the ignition, etc.).

Installing the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicle # RM76512 will make it much easier to disable these fuses without having to physically pull them, which can wear the contacts in the fuse block down over time.
