How to Remove Old Slide Out Seal Adhesive Before Steele Rubber Seal Installation

Question:

I am going to purchase the 15’x 3”” Steele seal to replace my RV slide out seal. How and what should I use to remove dirt and goo from the RV surface?

You want to start by wiping off any dirt and debris with a rag or shop towel. Once this is done, spray the old adhesive with an adhesive remover so it is easier to scrape off. I would use a plastic scraper to avoid causing any damage. Once you scrape off the old adhesive and residue, wipe it down with an alcohol pad to remove any additional oil. At this point you will be able to install your new Rubber Wiper Seal # SR29FR.
