Can LED Tail Lights be Added to a Vintage Camper Trailer

Question:

Are there any plans to offer LED`s to retrofit vintage camper trailer lights ? I think there is a large market for these, especially since vintage trailers have become so popular, all you would have to do is offer the lights to fit existing fixtures and not have to produce the whole unit. I have a vintage Serro Scotty and the lights that came stock with it are terrible, you can barley make them out in daylight. I think it is only a matter of time before someone drives into the back of my camper. If you have no such plans, is there any chance I could buy the LED`s without the lens and base ? I could probably adapt my lights to work with them. Thanks

There may be some replacement LED bulbs that you could use in place of incandescent bulbs on a trailer light. I would have to know the bulb number. The LEDs that we have that could potentially be used are designed for passenger vehicles so they may or may not use the same bulb numbers as a vintage trailer.

The other option would be to replace the whole tail light with an LED light. I have included a link to the LED trailer lights we offer.

In the mean time you can inspect the lights and trailer wiring to determine if a poor or loose connection, corrosion, or a weak ground is the cause for the existing lights being so dim.
