Question:
On the 2013ford edge, which color wire off of the brake switch is the one that will be used on the brake controller

Helpful Expert Reply:
Traditionally (at least from 2004 to 2007) Ford has used a green wire on the brake switch to attach to the red wire on a brake controller. However, the only way to know for sure is to test the wires using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Manufacturers can use any wire they want and if they run out of the normal color they use, they grab whatever is available to keep the assembly line moving.
To test the wire, use the circuit tester to probe the wires. You need the one that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed. If you think you have found the wire, but it also shows power with the headlights or turn signals on then it is not the correct wire.
