When Loading One Bike on Bike Rack Which Set of Frame Cradles Should be Used

Question:

When loading 1 bike is it best to place it close to the car or can you place it on the outer part.

If you are going to load just one bike on a bike rack you want to put it on the innermost set of frame cradles so that the weight of the bike puts the least amount of leverage on the rack arms.

I have the cargo carrier with 2 bike rack. The brackets don’t securely hold one bike. There is too much play and the screw down bolt doesn’t secure the bike as if it needs to be tightened more but can’t.

@JoanneG That's not a bike rack we carry so I don't have any info I could share on what might be possibly wrong. It could be just a design flaw of the rack though.
