Generator Run Time On Propane Versus Gas
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a Wildwood LE with a 13500 AC unit and the normal devices. I would like a dual fuel generator. I would like to know how long I can expect it to run on a 20lb or 30lb propane cyl vs a full tank of gas.I would probably tap into my 30lb tanks. I need to run electronic devices so I would need an inverter. If possible remote start.

The Firman 3,300-Watt Portable RV Dual Fuel Inverter Generator - Propane or Gas - Electric Start Item # FIR54FR is a dual fuel inverter generator that has enough wattage to run a 13500 AC.
On average, generators use between two and three pounds of propane per hour. Therefore, a generator can run an average of 5-6 hours on 20 pounds of propane. However, the heavier the load, the lower the operating time.
A standard generator will use .75 gallons of gas an hour so with the # FIR54FR you'd get around 2-3 hours out of it's 1.8 gallon tank.
