Question:
4 WD AUTOMATIC... How much weight can it tow?2009 4.3 liter Silverado regular cab “work truck”
asked by: Al
Expert Reply:
If it is a 1500 with standard bed, it is rated to tow 5,100 lbs. If it is a long bed then 4,900 lbs. These ratings are based on model year, regular cab, 4WD, engine size, and that truck has the 4.30:1 axle ratio.
You may be further restricted by your hitch receiver or other towing components, but components rated higher than this like the Curt # 14301 you asked from will not increase your towing capacity. that being said, this is a great hitch receiver that will serve you well.
