Recommended Roof Rack for 2019 Volkswagen Jetta (All Models)

Question:

whats the most secure rack for the 2019 vw jetta gli autobahn? We carry kayaks, and on our other cars can carry two of them. This vehicle is, however, quite narrow. I read that some racks interfere with the panoramic sunroof. What happens? Can the rack damage the roof or vice versa? Thank you

The roof rack I recommend for a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta (All Models) is the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar part # RRVA126B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK424. This system is a great option because it has most of the same features as other top tier options like from Thule and Yakima but at a fraction of the cost. There are aero crossbars which offer the best wind resistance and locks for security. There will be no issues with security. It will do a wonderful job of carrying kayaks. If you don't already have a carrier, the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier part # e98878 is what I recommend because it would be ideal for two kayaks on a vehicle with narrow roof.

In regards to a glass roof, the above system attaches to the metal parts which run along the side so there will be no issues but you do need to be sure to take a look in your owner's manual and verify you don't exceed the roof weight capacity limit.
