Can Existing Propane Gas Regulator Be Used for 20,000 BTU Ventless Heater
Question:
We just bought a 20,000btu ventless heater. Can we use the regulator that was already on the tank? We have a grill regulator but it keeps freezing up.

Expert Reply:
The gas appliance itself (your heater in this case) will determine what regulator is necessary. The instructions included with the heater should list an “inlet pressure” required for minimal performance. It’s either listed as W.C. (Water Column 7-14) or P.S.I.
If the existing regulator is properly rated for your heater, you'll have no problems using it.
