Backup Alarm that Could be Used on Mobility Scooter

So this HM60100VA would need to be wired to the scooter battery in order to have power to work?

The best solution we have for a proximity sensor that could be mounted on the back of a mobility scooter would be the Hopkins Backup Sensor System # HM60100VA which basically is a license plate bracket that has proximity sensors mounted on either side of it. This is normally used on vehicles but as long as you can wire it to the reverse circuit of the scooter it would work in same way.

My husband is concerned with th distance timing on this item. Can it be adjusted. He feels that the alarm would be going off consistently due to her moving about within her apartment.
