Can Horizontal Propane Regulator Mount Vertically
Published 06/28/2019 >
Question:
Is the issue with where the vent hole is on a vertical vs. horizontal regulator just about keeping the vent from getting plugged? Can I mount a horizontal regulator vertically if I protect the vent hole from debris?

Expert Reply:
The regulator vent allows the regulator to "breathe" during normal operation and functions as a pressure relief opening in an over-pressure situation. For this reason, propane regulators must be pointed down, covered and protected, or have an adapter attached that places the vent opening in a downward facing position.
