Recommended Tire Chains for Skid Steer in Mud
Question:
Need to the best model of chain to use on case 1845C With 12/16.5 heavy duty tire Off road dirt and mud
asked by: Greg
Expert Reply:
The best tire chains for 12 x 16.5 skid steer tires on mud are part # PWSSE12165-2 because of the double-spaced cross chains. The double spacing lets the chains grip deeper into mud and dirt giving you better traction when you need it most.
These chains are heavy-duty 8.2 millimeter thick nickel manganese alloy steel chains so they hold up over time and won't corrode prematurely. Pewag square link chains are also reversible so you can flip them over on the tires once one side of the links does begin to wear and get more life out of them.
