Comparing etrailer and Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carriers for a Yamaha TW200

Updated 06/13/2019 | Published 06/11/2019

Question:

I have a 2007 FJ Cruiser. It can haul 5000 lbs. Tounge weight is 500 lbs. per manufacturer. I am loading a Yamaha TW200 that weighs app. 280 lbs. This etrailer one seems to fit TWs perfectly but I also noticed a TW on the Ultra Fab but it looked like the fat rear tire was sitting on top of the 5 inch wide carrier. Can you recommend which hitch and stabilizing part or anti-tilt part to go with it?

Both the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # MT70101 and the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033 that you referenced are excellent options to use for carrying your Yamaha TW200 with your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I think in the picture you mentioned that the customer just had the TW200 propped up against the back of their truck because the bolts would need to be adjusted so that the tire fits between them (whereas in the picture the tire isn't really in the middle of the bolts).

I personally like that the etrailer carrier comes with an anti-rattle bracket to help limit any movement of the carrier in the trailer hitch but either carrier would work for you.

Then all you need are ratcheting straps like part # EM31353 to secure your TW200 and then I also recommend running a cable lock like part # e98891 around your dirt bike, through the carrier tray, and then also through the safety chain loop on your trailer hitch to help prevent theft.

I have attached some review videos and in-use videos for both carrier that you can reference.
