2505-8305 Model Steps on a 1990 Airstream 345 Motor Home Will Not Fully Extend
Question:
I have 1990 Airstream 345 Motorhome that the steps only go up half way. I can help them all the way and they stay. The manual says my step is a model 2505-8305. Will this kit fix my problem? Thank for your time,

The motor is likely the culprit of your steps not retracting all the way. The nylon gear inside the motor is likely the part that is worn. The step is able to extend due to gravity but it sound like the motor does not have enough power on the upstroke to fully retract. Unfortunately, I am not able to reference the model number that you provided. However, if it is a Kwikee Step then there would not be any replacement parts for you due to the age of the step. Therefore, your only option would be to replace the steps for which we have a few options that will be dependent on how many steps you have and how wide your mounting bracket is.
For example, the Lippert Kwikee 32 Series Electric Step part # LC372261 is a double step that fits a 25-1/4" wide mounting bracket. This unit comes with the motor, control unit, and switch kit.
