Question:
My manual says remove DLIS - if I am not using Sonic lights then why pull fuse if I have magnetic tail lights? I wouldnt need key on accessories either - right?

When I looked up the online version of the owner's manual for your 2012 Chevy Sonic it says that the DLIS fuse must be removed to keep the battery from dying since the key must be placed in the ACC position. This fuse removes power to the BCM causing the ignition relay to open. Even if you are using magnetic towing lights, like the Optronics # TL21RK, your battery would still drain due to other accessories that are already on your Sonic.
If you are wanting to avoid physically removing and insert the fuse each time you flat tow (or are done flat towing) your Sonic I recommend installing the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass # RM76511. This allows you to connect/disconnect that DLIS fuse with the flip of a switch (literally). If you check out the installation video of this on a 2018 Sonic you can see how easy it is to use once it is installed.
Please note that a complete flat towing setup requires a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you.
