What Base Plates Will Fit a 2004 Saturn Vue Redline Edition

Question:

Will the Roadmaster 3150-1 XL Base Plate Kit designed to fit a 2006 Saturn Vue Redline fit a 2004 Saturn Vue Redline? Both year models appear to have the same front fascia and probably have the same frame. Also can the 3150-1 XL base plate kit be changed to the MX design? I currently use the all terrain falcon tow bar to tow a 2000 Jeep with MX design base plates. Its much cleaner than the XL design exposed cross bar adapter. It seems all the adapter does is change the base plate from a XL design to the MX design. My goal is a 3150-1 MX base plate installed on a 2004 Saturn Vue Redline. Is it possible? Please help.

We do have a set of base plates for the 2004 Saturn Vue Redline but the Roadmaster base plates will not fit a 2004 model. You can use the Blue Ox base plates, # BX3321.

In order to use your Falcon tow bar you will have to use adapter # RM-031 that adapts the Roadmaster tow bar for use with the Blue Ox base plates.

If you need safety cables, I recommend the straight cables, # RM-646, because the Falcon all terrain tow bar has cable guides on each arm.

For lighting, you can use the Blue Ox Tail Light Wiring Kit - Bulb and Socket, # BX8869, with the 4-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord with 4-Way, Round Plugs, # BX8861, or the 6-Wire, Coiled Electrical Cord with 6-Way, Round Plugs, # BX8862.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being towed. One of the easiest to set up and install is the Blue Ox Patriot, # BRK2010. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
