Question:

FRAME ON MY 66 CHEVY BELAIR OUTSIDE TO OUTSIDE MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 50 DO YOU HAVE A UNIVERSAL FIT HITCH THAT I CAN PUT ON THE CAR, BACK IN THE DAY PEOPLE WERE LOT DUMBER, I RECALL SEEING THESE OLD RIDES WITH THE HITCHES MOUNTED TO THE BUMPERS TOWING HEAVY CAMPERS, EVEN THEN I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY DUMB, THEY ALSO HAD PLUNGE BRAKES, THE BRAKES AND HITCHES WERE D.O.T. ACCEPTABLE THEN, CRAZY, CRAZY. ANY WAY LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU HAVE, OR I MAY JUST TRY LOCATE A WELD SHOP THAT CAN MAKE ONE FOR ME.

While there aren't any custom hitches that will bolt right up to your 1966 Chevy Impala we do have universal hitches that could work. The best option is going to be # 15903. This is a weld-on hitch so it will need to be installed by a professional welder. It will fit your 50 inch wide frame (it may even have to be trimmed shorter!). I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

We also have a similar hitch from Buyers, # 3371801051, which has shorter brackets.
