Recommendation For Snap Up Replacement Brackets For Weight Distribution System

Question:

Are snap up brackets interchangeable? Differences between Reese 21501 vs 58392 vs. Curt 17208 vs. ProFit PS 58362? Fitment w/ existing Reese WDSystem 49581? Which come in a set? Need to handle 940 hitch weight.

Snap up brackets are somewhat interchangeable within their family branding. For example, the current Replacement Lift Bracket, Item # RP21501, works with the Reese family of weight distribution systems which includes Reese, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, or Pro Series.

The difference between all the snap up brackets involves how heavy duty they are and what weight distribution systems they work with. The Curt Replacement Hook Up Brackets, Item # C17208, are designed for Curt weight distribution systems. The Pro Series Snap-Up Bracket, Item # PS58362, fits the Reese 49568, 49569, and the 49570 models. None of these will work for you.

The Reese Replacement Lift Bracket, Item # RP21501, and the Replacement Heavy Duty Bracket, Item # 58392, are very similar. Both will work with your Reese Weight Distribution System, Item # PS49581. Basically, Item # 58392 is heavier duty because it has extra gusseting welded to it for additional reinforcement. If you look at the attached photo, you will see the differences between Item # RP21501 and Item # 58392.

Because you have a 940-lb tongue weight capacity, I recommend the Heavy Duty Bracket, Item # 58392, for your situation.

I have also attached some videos for you to check out.
