2-Step Electric Step Assembly for 1986 Winnebago Chieftain 27 Motorhome
Question:
I have a 1986 Winnebago Chieftain 27 and need to replace the single manual step with an electric double step to make it easier and safer to get in and out of our RV. Please tell me the model I need to purchase so it can be ordered immediately! Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless...

We offer a range of 2-step electric step assemblies for motorhomes like your 1986 Winnebago Chieftain 27 that are displayed on the linked page. These are available in three different widths: 24-inch, 26-1/4-inch and 30-inch. Based on photos of this motorhome that I found and reviewed I think your step size will be 24-inches like # LC372261. The mounting holes for this unit are spaced apart 8 x 22-inches. All step units are rated for 300-lbs.
You will want to take note of the spacing of the original step's mounting holes. Often new steps will match up since the same company that makes the aftermarket steps also makes the OEM models too.
You will also want to ensure the total retracted height of the new step does not cause ground clearance issues.
