Where Should Remote Transmission Filter Be Installed On Vehicle
Updated 06/05/2017 | Published 06/02/2017 >
Question:
Before or after cooler? Need to know which location is correct. Going to purchase a remote trans filter kit. Some sites say install on supply side before trans cooler. Others say install after the cooler on the return line back to the tranny. Which is correct? Does it really matter? The fluid pressure will push the fluid through anyway. Before or after.

When installing a remote transmission filter like part # D13090 on your vehicle, you can install it on either the incoming or outgoing line of the transmission. I have attached a drawing that shows the filter installed on the incoming transmission line.
I called my contact at Derale and they told me it is really up to the individual which side of the OEM radiator they want to put the filter.
