Which Line is Return Line on Ford C4 Transmission for Installing Transmission Cooler

without being able to start the engine,, which port on the c4 transmission does the upper transmission cooling line on the radiator attach to on the transmission,,, . The one closest to the front OR the closest to the rear. thank you ,,,

The rear line is the return line on a C4 transmission like what you have in your 1983 Ford Mustang. This would the line that you would install the transmission cooler on.
