Recommendations to Keep Transmission of 2008 Nissan Titan Cooler While Towing Up Hills

Question:

Hello I have a 2008 Nissan Titan with tow package. Transmission gets pretty hot up grades. Towing around 8500 pounds. Truck rated per factory at 9400. Someone suggested a larger tranny pan and programmer. Do you have these parts and or have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend going with a standard heat exchanger type transmission cooler like part # D13503. The cooler would install directly behind the truck grille, and would install inline on the return transmission line from the radiator. We don't offer a larger transmission pan for your vehicle, the exchanger cooler would be much more efficient in providing cooling.

We do offer tuners that are compatible with your Titan, but they wouldn't have much effect on how hot your transmission is running. A programmer can raise the line pressure, making shifts happen faster. This means less slipping which can reduce heat by a small amount. This being said, installing the transmission cooler will be more than sufficient to protect your transmission.

I've linked you to some FAQ articles about transmission coolers that you might find helpful.
