Troubleshooting LED Turn Signal Malfunction On 2011 Nissan Sentra
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Okay so I purchased a set of LED replacement bulbs for the brake lights/tail lights/ turn signals for my 2011 Nissan Sentra, along with the required load resistors, installed everything according to the instructions, and the brake/tail lights turn on and off correctly but the turn signals dont. All that happens when I hit the lever is they blink on once and then turn off, and stay off... I checked all the connections 4 times as well as made sure the resistors werent installed backwards but still get the same results and am at my wits end... I ended up reinstalling my stock Sylvania Silverstar bulbs and wrapped electrical tape over where the piggyback connectors spliced into the harness until I can figure out what the problem is, or give up and order a set of full replacement LED taillights.. I dont want to do that however since I hate giving up on any kind of project, so Id be extremely grateful if you could help me figure this out!! Thanks in advance for any help youre able to give me, have a great day!

It sounds like there may be a problem with the load resistors somewhere in the wiring. If they are not grounded securely they can cause problems like you said you are having.
I have attached a drawing that shows how load resistors should be installed you can check out. If you are still having the problem with the one time turn signal and then nothing, you might want to check the output side of the resistor wiring with a multi-meter to make sure you are getting sufficient current for the LED lights.
I recommend a load resistor like part # DI34ZR to help with LED-related turn signal problems. You will want to make sure you install a resistor for each signal.
