Towing Capacity For 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX
Question:
When installing one of your hitches on my 2007 Subaru wrx, the mounting points are the fixing points for the tow hooks. Im a little worried that the hitch will not hold up under towing. Do you have any recommendations?

Per the instructions for the Curt Hitch, part # C11497, which is a Class l hitch, the tow hooks (referred to as tie-down brackets) are removed and are not reinstalled on your 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX.
The hitch has a 2,000 lb towing weight capacity, but you would need to either check your owner's manual or with your dealership to see what the vehicle is rated for. You do not want to exceed the vehicle capacity for tongue weight or towing capacity.
Typically, a Class l hitch is used for carrying items like bike racks or cargo carriers, or light trailers. If you have a specific item you are intending the hitch to be used for I can make some recommendations that will work for you.
