Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring for 2009 Ford E-350 with Backup Sensors

Question:

I have a 2009 Ford E350 I would like to put a hitch and wiring on. I found the connector under the van that would use this part, but right now that connector is plugged into wires that lead to backup sensors in the bumper. I suppose I could disconnect the backup sensors, but I really dont want to do that. Is there any way I can use this wiring harness? or do I need to use a different one?

We do indeed have hitches and trailer wiring for your 2009 Ford van that will allow you to retain your backup sensors.

TowReady wiring harness # 118551 will plug in at your van taillights without need to cut or splice into the vehicle's wiring. The only other connection required for this powered converter is for its 12V power wire which will run up to the engine compartment for connection to the battery through the included fuse holder - please refer to the linked article for guidance. You may need additional wire and connectors to complete the installation depending on how your route the harness' power wire. You can use 12-gauge wire # 12-1-1 and butt connectors # 05732-2. This wiring will be completely independent of the harness that connects to your backup sensors.
