Will the Yakima SuperJoe 3 Bike Rack Fit on a 2008 Honda Pilot and a 2005 Subaru Legacy Sedan

Yakima does list the SuperJoe Pro 3 bike rack, # Y02630, for your 2005 Legacy Sedan, but at this time we do not have a trunk mount bike rack option for the 2008 Honda Pilot. And on the Subaru, you have to use the glass hook adapter so you would be limited to just 2 bikes even though the rack can hold 3.

In your case I would recommend trailer hitches and a trailer hitch mounted bike rack for several reasons. First, access to the back of your vehicles will be much better with a hitch mount rack. With a trunk mount rack you will need to remove the rack each time you need to enter the trunk or back hatch. Next, Hitch mount racks are much easier to install and remove, once the initial hitch installation is complete. Finally, with a hitch mounted rack there is no chance of damage to the finish of your vehicles.

I would recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75599, for your 2008 Pilot, and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75560, for your 2005 Legacy Sedan. I attached installation instructions and videos for you to help make your decision.

For a bike rack that can carry 3 bikes and will work on both vehicles, and vehicles with a 1-1/4 inch hitch if your needs change in the future, I would recommend the Yakima DoubleDown 4 bike rack, # Y02424, which will work with any 2 inch hitch and any Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch. If you wanted a rack that is compatible with all Class I, II and III, trailer hitches, the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack, # S63380, would be a good choice, but you will be limited to 2 bikes when used in a Class I hitch.
