Which Fifth Wheel Hitch and Install Kit can Be used on a 1997 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Long Bed
Question:
I have a 1997 Ford F-350 4x4 Single Rear Wheel long bed w/Powerstroke and 5 speed manual. My wife and I are looking to buy a 32 -36 fifth wheel RV. Should I get a slider and/or air ride? Will you recommend a few products?

You will not need a slider hitch as you have a long, 8 foot truck bed. You can use a standard fifth wheel like part # RP30047 or part # RP30033, depending on the weight of the trailer. These are both 4 way pivot fifth wheels that will make hook up and maneuvering easier.
You will also need an install kit, part # RP30035. I have also included a link to the instructions for this install kit below.
If you want to ensure you have the smoothest ride possible, you could swap the pin box on the trailer with a cushioned air-ride coupler like the 5th Airborne. You would select the proper 5th Airborne based on the pin box on the RV trailer. I have added a link to our 5th Airborne Department Page below.
