Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness

Setting up a trailer's wiring can be a daunting task, but with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, complicated installations are a thing of the past. This custom-fit 7-way connector plugs directly into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness located behind the rear bumper, eliminating the need for cutting or splicing. Tailor-made for easy installation, it's a reliable solution for activating your vehicle's towing capabilities seamlessly.

Stay in Control: ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

Towing scenarios can be diverse, and compatibility issues between vehicle and trailer wiring systems can disrupt your plans. With the integrated ModuLite power module, your trailer's lights will function flawlessly without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. This converter ensures that your vehicle's 3-wire system is compatible with most trailers' 2-wire systems, combining the brake and turn signals effortlessly.

Robust Wiring: 16-Gauge Bonded Wire Construction

If you've ever worried about the durability of your trailer wiring, this 16-gauge bonded wire will provide peace of mind. Built to last, this wire can withstand the rigors of towing, ensuring consistent power for the trailer's signal lights. It’s perfect for those who demand reliability in their towing setup.

High Performance: Power and Compatibility

Encountering a weak towing connector is frustrating, especially when your trailer's lights dim out unexpectedly. This harness provides a maximum amperage of 4.2 amps per circuit for stop/turn lights and 12 amps per circuit for tail lights, ensuring consistent power to your trailer’s lighting system. Plus, it's compatible with adapters for 4-pole, 5-pole, and 6-pole systems, making it versatile for various towing needs.

Compatible with OEM Decks: Factory Fit

Experience the satisfaction of a solution designed specifically for your Honda Pilot. This harness offers a factory-fit feel for models pre-wired for towing, integrating easily without disrupting your vehicle’s aesthetics or functionality. It’s as close to a factory installation as you can get without the dealership markup.

Keep Your Connection Safe: Protective and Minimal Maintenance

Outdoor electrical connections can suffer from corrosion, leading to electrical issues in time. The powered module design also includes the necessary fuses to activate the functions of the towing package and crucial connections. A small application of grease on all electrical contacts can further protect this system, significantly reducing maintenance and maximizing longevity, so you can focus on your journey instead of upkeep.

Installation

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness. The connection point for the 7-way harness is located behind the rear bumper.
  • The converter plugs into the factory wiring harness in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the floor covers, cargo trays, and some interior paneling to access this harness.
  • Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

  • A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector.
  • This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

It fit vehicle perfectly, only problem was wiring diagram said to hook wires 1-7 but plug was labeled A-G had to look online for proper wiring. Also it would have been nice if it came with a mounting bracket. I ended up ordering one from [online vendor]for around $[XX] just include it and bump the price up $[XX]. Otherwise everything worked great.

Thanks for sharing the photo and for the heads up about the wiring. I'm glad you were able to find the info you needed to install it! :) I can totally see how including the bracket would make the part that much better, too.

by:
2020 Honda Pilot

The instructions were overly complicated. All connections can be made from the "gas can adapter" access panel and the tire jack panel without removing any more body panels. Move the rubber grommet one foot closer to the end of the wiring harness. Use the 10mm screw in the upper right of the gas can adapter panel, stick the converter box inside this panel. With the grommet moved down one foot, thread the rest of the cable through the regular hole in the floor. Install the grommet as usual and continue with the installation.

Everything fit great. The online video was excellent and went just like they said. I plugged my trailer in and all lights worked first time!

the wiring harness works great, no issues.

by:

The instructions are not particularly helpful when it comes to the location of the female plug for the backup sensor.
When I ordered the unit over the phone, I asked if a separate mounting bracket would aid in installing the 7-pin plug on the exterior, and the operator said no. When I called later to inquire about mounting and additional installation difficulties, the new representative said that there is a recommended mounting bracket for the 7-pin plug.

2016 Honda Pilot touring all wheel drive. Original owner had four plug harness installed. Did not have trailer tail and couldn't back up with surge brakes. etrailer said this is what I needed. I watched their videos and it worked perfectly. Solved both issues. Perfect fit for the 14 pin plug in the back. FYI, you do not have to remove all of the trim like in the video. Just open the two panels on the left rear and everything is accessible. The provided seven pin connector holes did not line up with the existing Honda bracket welded to the trailer hitch underneath. Just had to get creative with a drill to install the seven pin connector in the factory opening.

I had total out-of-the box failure on 3 of these I bought on this site.. it took a while to comprehend I had the misfortune of 3 consecutive failures, but when it did, I bought the exact same piece, from a local retailer. That solved the problem.
Three failures is an expensive lesson!

Terrible! I bought 3 of these from E-trailer. All 3 would NOT mage the transition of a 4 wire to a 3 wire. Electrical measurements clearly indicated that there was a failure in the potted components. I went down to the local U-Haul trailer rental, bought same model off their shelf. $80.00 and change. It works fine. Apparently there was an un-discovered faulty run of this product.

@John I am sorry to hear about your initial experience with these units. I did reach out to Tekonsha directly and there was a batch of these that did have issues being defective and faulty. I am glad to hear that you were at least able to find one that was able to work for you, and I hope it is still working well. Let me know if there is anything that I can do for you.

by:

Loving that the turn signals flash in sync with the tow vehicle even when the brake lights are on. Two issues: (1) The grounding terminal slid off the end of the big white wire. Solution: re-crimp AND solder it securely. (2) The pass-through grommet needed to be moved about 8 inches farther down the cable loom from the control unit. Other than that, installation was easy. Instruction video was very helpful and the included instruction sheet capped it off. Excellent product!

2016 Honda Pilot

Worth every penny. So secure and easy to plug harness into factory socket at rear cargo access panel. I took the lower bumper panel off so that I could work on it on the bench. I think the 7 pin receiver could be installed with the bumper panel still on the car but placement is critical as to clear the hitch. Taking the panel off was difficult but doable even for this one armed old man. I drilled a rosette of holes in the bumper and finished the hole with a dremel sanding disc. This made a perfect fit. I used bolts and washer - lock washer on the back. This method created a very solid install. You could try a mounting bracket but I don't see and good clean attachment location.

by:

I used this wiring kit with the Honda hitch. I would recommend installing the 7-way receptacle to the mounting bracket on the hitch prior to installing the hitch to the car. You will need to drill holes in the mounting bracket on the hitch since the ones on the receptacle don't line-up with the ones on the bracket. I used four stainless steel screws and nuts with nylon inserts to connect everything together. The rest of the installation went just like the video, easy.

by:
2017 Honda Pilot

I must say I like having my etrailer equipment installation was easy. But I really wish I had installed the factory hitch. Only because the provisions for mounting the wire harness is much much better. etrailer IS GREAT WITH ALL THAT THEY DO

by:
2016 Honda Pilot

Very easy to install. Everything I needed was right in the plastic bag of hardware. The head of the self-tapping screw was smaller than the hole in the lug on the ground wire so I had to use a washer between the two. Also, I didn't get a nice clicking sound when I put the white wire into the connector, but all the rest were good. I hope the white wire stays put, but I think it will because of the little plastic piece used to secure all of the wires.

I probably didn't need this fancy of a harness for my infrequent, light-towing needs, but it really was a dream to install. Would highly recommend.

by:

Got it delivered early. Good stuff. Now find the time to install it! Lol

by:

Price was great, instruction decent. Didn’t come with the screws to mount like it was supposed to, harness holes didn’t align perfectly with OEM. Overall well worth the savings and works great.

by:
2016 Honda Pilot

Install was easy however the electrical connections were not clear in the black and white instructions included, had to use the color picture on the website to properly wire the 7 pin connection. Any questions were answered by their video. Only wished that I had gotten a model with both the 4 pin and 7 pin connectors.

by:
2010 Honda Element

The wiring harness was complete and easy to install. The best part was that the instructions were easy to follow and accurate. The only thing I would add to the kit is the bracket for the 7-way connector, that way you would have the option to use the bracket or cut a hole in the plastic below the bumper. I chose to cut the hole in the plastic below the bumper.

by:

Classic under promise and over deliver. The videos were extremely helpful and everything went together just as described on my 2020 Honda Pilot. I ordered the Drawtite receiver and the T-One 7 pin harness. Only thing that was a bit frustrating was the location of the onboard pre wired connector on the Pilot. It would have been helpful for a caution about needing to fish up into the body to find that connector, it isn’t readily available to find.

by:

etrailer 7 pin trailer harness and Draw-title trailer hitch for under $200. Install made so much easier with YouTube self help videos. Great deal and the communication was excellent. Would recommend to anyone, thanks again.

by:

The price I got was excellent compared to what the dealer would charge. Thanks to the etrailer installation videos, i was able to do it without difficulty and this is the first time i installed an item like this.

by:

I am very happy with the results from the trailer hitch and wiring harness I purchased from etrailer.com. Installation was very easy and I saved $800.00 from a dealer install. Thanks.

Excellent plug and play harness. The instructions video was extremely helpful too. I used this harness with the Honda hitch for an integrated install.

by:

Works fine - no issues - just be careful with the panels.

by:

Perfect very useful to any carriers with light I installed to my car

by:

The Tekonsha wiring harness I purchased didn't work. I purchased a second Tekonsha wiring harness from Amazon thinking I accidently fried the first one, but the second wiring harness did not work either. After examining both wire harnesses, I realized they both were fabricated wrong at the factory. After cutting and splicing the wires in the correct position, the lights finally came on appropriately. I called Tekonsha to let them know about the wiring issue, the technician said they would look into it and I never heard back. I would never purchase another wiring harness of any sort from Tekonsha.

by:
2016 Honda Pilot

It took longer to gather my tools than to install this unit. The hardest part was getting the factory connection loose from all the tape Honda likes to put on. My only suggestion for install is to skip drilling the 3/32" hole for a ground like the instructions say to do as on the 2016 Pilot there is a 6mm tapped hole already in the compartment that makes a great ground connection. Total time for install was about 20 minutes. I mounted my connector to the hitch cover on the drivers side of the car so the wiring harness was a little long. I just looped it and zip tied it to the car frame. All in all worth the money so I didn't have to find and splice wires.

  • How to Find Connector for Back Up Sensors When Installing 118760 Trailer Wiring on 2019 Honda Pilot
According to my contact at Tekonsha, the connector you're looking for will only be present if the bumper sensors are dealer-installed. If the parking sensors were factory installed, the connector will NOT be present, and the blue wire in question doesn't need to be connected to anything. You can just bundle it up and tuck it out of the way, using a zip tie to secure it. The trailer connector will work fine. The factory installed parking sensors are most common, which explains why we don't...
