Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

quite pleased with my wiring harness - easy to install - nice tight connection
The "EASIEST" wiring harness install ever and it all fit and worked perfectly! In just a matter of minutes, it was plugged in, grounded and tested. With the basics already in place on my 2006 Equinox, I now have a working harness that is guaranteed to work and if ever it did need replacing, I know where to get another!
everything fell right in place, well satisfied with this receiving hitch to fit my 2006 equinox. the wiring harness that I bought to fit worked great every thing hidden. when I need something else in this line I will remember etrailer would recommend to anyone
the instructions with the wiring harness were very direct and easy to follow. instalation was quick, simple, and easy. I now have a hidden harness that is out of the way until I need it.

the harness has worked out great. I use haul trailers and boats and it works good with all of them.
The wiring harness was extremely easy to install. The video of the installation was helpful for locating where it goes.

After a year the wiring harness is still working out well
I am glad that etrailer was here and that I didn't need to depend on the dealership for wiring my pontiac torrent for trailer towing, because they didn't have a clue about the wiring connector that comes with the vehicle. The wiring harness was extremely easy to install, especially after watching the you tube video. Excellent value, fast shipping, great price. I am extremely happy with all aspects of this purchase.
This is the fourth hitch I've purchased from Etrailer and installed myself. The DIY videos have been all I've needed to get the job done. This hitch went on a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox belonging to my father-in-law on short notice. The demo video was superb-even advising to use of a wire brush to clean the bolt threads in the frame because this particular vehicle model tends to collect road salt and grime. Wire harness was just as good. 6 bolts and a wire harness installed in 30 minutes and lots of money saved, thanks to etrailer.
The 118391 wiring is worth the extra money because of the ease of install and the demo videos. In the long run, being able to tow a utility trailer will pay for itself by saving the cost of owning a second (or third) vehicle.

I needed a wire harness for my hitch by Saturday so that I could rent a trailer. I put in the order with etrailer at around 4pm on a
Wednesday and chose two-day shipping. I was sweating because most companies would not have processed the order until the next day, but etrailer processed and shipped the order by Wednesday evening and had it to me by Friday morning. Also they beat the auto parts stores price on the wire harness by more than $30. I will definitely use them again.
Ordered hitch, wiring Harness and kit with multiple ball-mounts and balls for 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. All the "Right Stuff" showed up in a few days, (not the week that was anticipated), it all went off - And ON - Without a Hitch! (Well the Hitch went on without a...any...you know - problems!) All the Proper Hardware for the application was included - And it Fit!

The wiring kit for the trailer lights came in the same box with the hitch I bought for a chevy, and it arrived fast with no upgrade to shipping. The kit hooks up perfect just like the video shows and the directions. This is the second time I ordered a wiring kit and a hitch through etrailer and every thing fits perfect and works great on both vehicles. If I need any thing again I'll come back because I know the parts will work and are of high quality. Also if you do not want to run it through the back hatch there are ways to get the plug under the car to come up by the ball, just have to find the path maybe take off a panel inside to run wire under then out below. I did it on a mitsubishi because I towed a lot with it.
This is an excellent method of wiring the Chev. Equinox for trailer lights. Other kits I looked at were wired beginning at the front of the vehicle. It took me a total of ten minutes to install with the ground taking the longest.
Good price, Great Product, Everything fit well and was easy to install. Have had the hitch and wiring adapter for about a year. It gets used weekly and haven't had any problems. I would definitely recommend etrailer.
I purchased a wiring harness for a 2005 chevy Equinox that included a 4 wire flat connector. I installed it in about 20 minutes instructions were very clear, concise and it works great. Very happy plug and go plus the cost was less than local auto parts stores.

Great service!! I ordered hitch and wiring harness for my 06 Pontiac Torrent at 2:00pm one day and got it delivered the next morning. And this was with free shipping!! The hitch fit the Torrent as advertised but, a word to the warning. Sometimes GM doesn't get their welded-in nuts exactly in the center of the holes thus, making the starting of the supplies bolts difficult. The wiring harness was a plug-in-plat setup.

Plugs in to the OEM socket in the jack compartment and includes more than ample wire to the connection to the trailer plug. I used some 3M double sided sticky tape to fasten the black box on the underside of the deck in the jack compartment to keep it out of contact with the jack or handle tools.

Talk about easy to install! This took about 5 total minutes to install and hook up to my trailer. This product works great and was delivered to my house before the estimated date. I'm very satisified with the product and service from etrailer.com.
Installed this with a Curt class III trailer hitch on our 2006 Torrent. A simple plug-and-play installation and was able to use the existing ground point for the vehicle tail lights so no drilling required. 15 minute install.
The item showed up at my home in less than a week. To connect it into my vehicle was a breeze. The only thing that I would recommend that they did not is to apply some lithium grease to the connection prior to snapping them together.
It seems like it took longer to remove and reinstall the jack than it did to install the wire harness. Total time including connecting the ground wire and checking everything with a tester was less than 10 minutes.
