MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 BMW X5

Today on our 2012 BMW X5, we've got the Maxx Tow 21 by 48 Aluminum Cargo Carrier out. We're doing a test fit to see how it fits the back of the vehicle here. Now you can see this is a mainly all aluminum carrier, which is going to make it extremely light. If weight's an issue for you or getting things loaded and unloaded would be a problem, this would be a really good choice. Now it still maintains a 500 pound weight capacity. It's got a full steel shank that's going to run all the way into our receiver tube. It then has the supports that come out side to side to give us our stability.

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 BMW X5

Today on our 2012 BMW X5, we've got the Detail K2 twenty by sixty folding cargo carrier. Now this is designed for use with two inch hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is K2-HCC602. Now the Detail K2's going to have a nice, open mesh floor, what they call kind of an expanded steel. It's nice and smooth so we don't have to worry about any sharp edges or anything. This is going to allow, though, for a lot of that moisture, dirt and debris from some of the dirtier items you might have stacked up here to fall right down and out and not build up on the carrier. See we've got a raised edge that goes all the way around, gives us a lot of great attachment points so when we have our load on there we'll be able to get it secure, but it's also going to offer front-to-back and side-to-side stability.

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 BMW X5

Today on our 2012 BMW x5, we've got the Curt 20x60 cargo carry-out, and we're test fitting it to see how it fits with the vehicle. This cargo carrier's been designed to carry 500 pounds. It also has been designed for use with 2" hitches. Part number on it is C-1-8-1-5-0. The carrier's going to offer an expanded steel floor. Those small holes are going to work out great for allowing dirt and debris and moisture to kind of fall down and out, and not sit on the carrier and cause corrosion.

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 BMW X5

Today on our 2012 BMW X5, we've got the Curt 24 by 60 cargo carrier here. We're going to test fit it and see how it fits the rear of the vehicle. This has been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. This is also going to offer us a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is C18151. As you can see, it's a nice large carrier. We've got the expanded steel style floor.

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 BMW X5

Today on our 2012 BMW X5 we've got the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier out and we're doing a test fit to see how it shapes up on the back of the vehicle here. This cargo carrier, it's been designed for 2" hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is CC-100. You can see here we've got a larger hole expanded steel mesh. A little bit larger than what you typically see, which is good, so even those bigger chunks of dirt or mud might fall down through and out. Won't build up on the carrier. Also going to have a raised edge here on the outside of about 2-3/4".
