Now this will replace the existing lock core on your pop and lock locking tailgate handle with this core that'll code to your vehicles ignition key.The lock core replaces the core that's on your existing pop and lock locking tailgate handle, and it is designed to work with the part numbers PAL1310 and PAL1310C tailgate handles. Both of those handles, we do sell separately on our website.
This lock cylinder has the bolt codeable technology, so that it can be keyed to match your OEM Truck key. It's a tough armored steel lock to resist tampering. And the installation hardware is all included. There's no drilling required. It even gives you a nice set of instructions on how to install it.

Took me all of 5 minutes to change out locks and install back in tailgate. Stuck my key in New lock and turned clockwise until it stopped and it works just like the instructions said it would.
